How financially resilient are you?

Almost a quarter of workers (22%) feel they could only survive financially for a month or less if their income stopped. (Royal London, State of the Protection Nation)

If you feel this would affect you too, take a look at the options available to you which could include:

·        building an emergency reserve – not always so easy with the current demands on an overstretched budget, I know, but small steps start to build quickly, just £3 a day saved is £1,095 a year.

·        Get to grips with your company policies on sick pay, both short and long term.

·        Look at income protection which pays an income if you are unable to work due to illness to make sure your commitments are covered to allow you to recuperate and recover.

·        See whether you would become entitled to any state benefits to help support you, the ABI Percy Calculator can help with this, https://www.abi.org.uk/percy/

Sometimes self-care is about having the parachute in place and hoping never to need it!
